Pot of the Month for August is this impressive Bell Vase. Standing at just under 8″/19.5cm high, this W.H Goss Bell Vase is a really substantial piece. The front is decorated with the White Ensign and Union Jack flag, flying from flagstaffs and surmounted by the Naval Crown. The Arms of Queen Victoria are on the rear. This is an unusual decoration, and not seen very often. It is believed that the vase could have been produced as a commemorative piece for the 1897 Royal Fleet review at Spithead, although there is nothing on it to confirm this.
