Pot of the month for March is this beautiful little pot with detailed floral decoration on its lid. Only measuring 2″/5cm high and made from unglazed parian, this is an early piece (c 1858-87). It carries an unusual blue Goshawk backstamp, unaccompanied by the customary W.H.Goss lettering. The skill which must have gone into creating these beautifully detailed flowers is wonderful to see. You can just imagine this beautiful pot decorating a ladies boudoir or dressing room.
