Pot of the Month for June had to be this splendid commemorative mug, given that we have just witnessed an historic Coronation. This handsome straight sided mug with angular handle, commonly known as the Whitstable Coronation Mug, was produced to celebrate the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary on 22nd June 1911. The front shows their Royal Cypher, while the reverse shows: “Presented at Whitstable on the occasion of the Coronation of Their Majesties King George V and Queen Mary”. A really nice colourful piece of Goss to have, especially if you collect commemoratives.
