Of course, Pot of the Month for May just had to be this pretty little Second Period (1881-1934) Bagware Tea pot, smothered in May Blossom. May Blossom decoration was introduced to celebrate the engagement or marriage – we aren’t sure which – of Princess May of Teck to the future King George V. Measuring 5”/12.7cm high, it has the typical twisted cord handle and trim which goes with this particular design. The cord detailing sometimes comes in other colours such as yellow or green, but it’s usually always blue. With the cord and spout embellished with gold, we’re sure you’ll agree that it would have made a very nice addition to the tea tray. Although we suspect this particular teapot probably just graced the china cabinet!
