inscription: Model of Hawkins
famous Henley scull as used in the Diamonds Henley Royal Regatta. Rd. No.
matching arms: Henley-on-Thames
Ancient; Henley-on-Thames 1624
notes: This model was registered
in 1914, though it was not listed in The Goss Record until the 9th edition and even there it was listed as being in preparation. It is (almost?) always found bearing matching arms. It was sold by the Henley-on-Thames agent in special presentation boxes which bore an additional inscription on a label inside the lid (see the photograph). These boxes usually contained two sculls, though boxes designed to contain only a single scull can also be found.
